Pak Vs India | Why Amir is Important

Mohammad Amir

Mohammad Amir returned to the Pakistan team in 2017 and luckily made it into the Pakistan team’s World Cup Squad as he was not selected in the squad at first, due to poor performance in the previous matches. He had 5 wickets in a span of two years, thus Inzamam-ul-Haq, the PCB chief selector did not support the idea of including Mohammad Amir in the World Cup Squad. However, as the other fast-paced bowlers failed to perform in the matches before the World Cup, the presence of Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz became a necessity for the Pakistan Bowling line-up

The 27-year-old fast bowler, Mohammad Amir has promised that Pakistan will be giving their 100% in the upcoming match against their rival team India. Mohammad Amir will be the crucial player for Pakistan due to his classical performance in this World Cup and due to his swing and perfect pace, plus his awesome record against Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The Former Indian Cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar has praised Mohammad Amir for his recent performance and has advised Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who will be the key players of the Indian team to focus more on Amir and longer their innings. Can Amir put up a similar performance like the one against India in ICC Champions Trophy Final and make history repeat once again?

ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

From the beginning of the Cricket World Cup 2019, Mohammad Amir has been on the peak of his performance and currently is the highest wicket taker of this World Cup. Since the first match against West Indies, Amir is showing his potential as he took 3 wickets against West Indies which include Gayle and Hope. Against England Amir took 2 wickets, this included Jos Buttler and it was the turning point of the match. Mohammad Amir, against Australia, completed a 5 Wicket Haul. He conceded only 30 runs in his 10 overs and came up with the best bowling figures of World Cup 2019. However, due to poor bowling from other bowlers, Pakistan conceded 307 runs and Pakistan was unable to chase the target, resulting in Pakistan second World Cup defeat. Currently, Pakistan stands on the 8th rank in the World Cup Table.

India vs Pakistan

Both the teams will be facing each other in Manchester this Sunday and it is expected that there will be the largest audience to witness any match in this World Cup. For millions of people, the world would stop turning and this will be the only thing that matters. It will be an important match for both the teams as it will be a battle for the Group’s Top 4. The Pakistani Fans are expecting Mohammad Amir to put up an awesome performance in the match against India, just the way he performed against them in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 Final, taking down the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shikhar Dhawan. However, Pakistan has had a rough start in this World Cup and will be facing India in their fifth match and a win is important for Pakistan. No doubt that Pakistan has never defeated India in a World Cup Match but can Pakistan do something they have never done before to turn the tables on?
